Recently I’ve integrated clean skincare and makeup products into my routine. While there are many “clean” brands out there, a problem I have is finding quality products at an affordable price. Unfortunately so many clean brands are extremely expensive. So, when Maelove reached out to do a collaboration I was thrilled. As a young, female-owned start-up, the company has spent extensive time researching formulas for its products. Maelove’s mission is to provide the best skincare without wasting its customer’s time or money. Thus, most of Maelove’s products are affordable, ranging from $20-$30, with the most expensive product being the Love 31 Face Oil priced at $75 (my favorite product). For the past month I’ve exclusively used Maelove’s products and have brighter, dewy skin. While I don’t claim to be a beauty expert, below are my morning and evening skincare routines using Maelove’s products.

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating with loved ones. True to tradition we spend Christmas Eve with my mom’s side of the family in Fairfax, Virginia and then celebrate Christmas day in the morning with my mom and then spend the remainder of Christmas with my dad and stepmom in Herndon, Virginia (see recap of Christmas 2017) .

These past couple of weeks after getting back from our Europe vacation (Edinburgh recap; Amsterdam recap; Paris recap) have been very low-key. On the weekends Jeremy and I have been catching up on sleep and running errands. During the week last week I went to New York City for work. Traveling for work is never a vacation. My team and I are up early and working all day to late at night to get the most out of our travels. However, we did get to have a night to ourselves and my one coworker and I saw Waitress the Musical featuring Katharine McPhee on Broadway. It was the last week Katharine McPhee was performing (her last show was on August 19) so we were super lucky to see her. The show is such a feel good romantic comedy.

Over Memorial Day weekend I spent time with my Dad’s side of the family for my cousin Victoria’s wedding. Victoria and I are only a year apart. So, growing up we were always very close. Victoria is such a beautiful person inside and out, and found her perfect match in Alex, her husband. It was so nice to see everyone for Victoria’s wedding since my Dad’s side of the family is fairly small but are all spread out.
My Dad and Stepmom live in Virginia near my Mom and sister Caylen. Aunt Linda (Victoria’s Mom), her boyfriend and my Grandmother live in Bradenton, Florida. Then, my Dad’s brother, my Uncle John, his wife Aunt Marcelle and my two cousins Melissa and Leah live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m the oldest of all girl cousins. So, we always joked it was going to take a very special guy to be able to join our all female clan. Luckily Alex, Jeremy and Steven (my sister Caylen’s boyfriend make the cut).
On June 18, 2016 Jeremy and I got married at Pippin Hill Winery in Charlottesville, Virginia. My wedding day was the best day of my life, as it should be. In addition to spending the day with your family, friends and husband, it’s the one day where you can make it all about you. So, that’s where an amazing glam squad comes in. I absolutely loved Brianna Adams, my hair stylist and Gohar Adams, my makeup artist. Both are extremely talented and travel all over to do hair and makeup.

The weather has been beyond freezing. This does not come to a shock to anyone who is currently located on the east coast. Jeremy and I have been hibernating and rarely leaving our condo. However, I forced myself to be social and get out of the house this weekend.

Jeremy and I went to Hilton Head to spend some time with his family after Christmas. However, another reason we went to Hilton Head was to celebrate my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday on December 28!

After spending Christmas in Virginia with my family, I flew home on Wednesday December 27 to Atlanta for a night. Then, on Thursday December 28 Jeremy and I drove to Hilton Head, South Carolina to visit his mom, step-dad and sisters.
As I’ve recapped in prior years (see 2015 and 2016) Christmas is my favorite holiday to spend with my family. I flew home to Virginia on December 23 and spent four days with my family. Christmas Eve is our big night with my mom’s side of the family. My mom is one of 6 siblings and all my aunts, uncles and cousins live in Northern, Virginia. My grandmother used to host Christmas Eve dinner. However, the last couple of years my mom has hosted since my grandmother now lives full time in Florida. Then, Christmas day we spend the morning with my mom opening our stockings and presents. Then we spend the afternoon and have dinner with my dad and step-family.

I feel like I’m a constant nomad, but in a good way. After I got back from Fort Laurderale with my Mom and sisters I flew to DC for a girls weekend. My best friend Jess was having a big blow out bash for her 30th birthday. She actually just moved to Chicago, but wanted to have her birthday in DC since most of our friends and her family are on the East coast. Jess was one of my bridesmaids and is one of my best friends so I couldn’t miss birthday her celebration.

On Saturday June 24, Jeremy and I celebrated my dear friend Melissa’s wedding in Virginia (see recap of Melissa’s bachelorette party). Melissa is such a beautiful person inside and out. We’ve been friends for over 10 years. I’m really thankful for Melissa’s friendship after all this time. So, Jeremy and I were pleased we could celebrate with Melissa and her (now) husband Brennan, on their wedding day.

Last weekend I traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia to celebrate my friend Melissa’s bachelorette party. I’ve known Melissa forever and she’s one of the sweetest people I know. We went to high school and to college together. Then after college we lived together in Arlington, Virginia. I wanted to wear this new white eyelet dress wine tasting, but I ended up wearing jeans and layering because it was so cold. But despite the weather, we still had a fabulous weekend.

My two younger sisters came to visit me this past weekend! It was the first time they had visited me since I moved to Atlanta. I’m the oldest. Alissa, my middle sister lives in NYC and Caylen, my youngest sister lives in Arlington, VA near our parents and the rest of our extended family. We’ve always been close since we were babies. It’s hard living far away from them now, but I cherish the moments we are together!
