    Summer Chic Essentials

I’ve been all over the place this summer, from my wedding in Virginia, to my honeymoon in Italy, to my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party in Miami, to my friend’s bachelorette party in Las Vegas, plus so many other places this summer!  I’ll be headed to two other bachelorette parties at the end of August.  One in Cape May, which I’ve never been to so I’m really excited to attend and another one in Baltimore.  Baltimore is such a fun city and I’m looking forward to that as well!  Whenever I’m traveling and know I’m headed to the pool or a beach I always pack my must-haves.  I always need a cute bathing suit and cover up, like this new off the shoulder white lace romper I got online at Romwe!  I’ve gotten more conservative as I’ve gotten older and I’m not as comfortable walking around in only my bathing suit.  I love white in the summer and this lace romper is just the cutest!  It has a drawstring to adjust the size because it’s one size fits all.  It’s also another $20 purchase!  I love finding good deals and the romper shipped really quickly! I also have been searching for some new bathing suits and I found some really cute affordable ones at Adore Me!

    Colorblock Dress

During the summer I’m more social and like to grab dinner or drinks with friends or coworkers (during the winter I hibernate).  So, having outfits that are versatile and can be worn at the office during the day and then transition seamlessly to social events after work is important!  It’s not always that easy because sometimes work clothes are just boring.  That’s why I’m obsessed with this new color block dress that I found on Amazon….and the best part is it is only $22!  Can’t really beat the price!  I love the two different patterns on the dress and the zipper on the bottom.  The zipper jazzes the dress up a bit.  It’s perfect for any occasion, including work, date night, happy hour or a girl’s night!   Read more

    Florence and the Amalfi Coast

After Rome, we went to Florence and the Amalfi coast for the remainder of our honeymoon.  We took a train from Rome to Florence.  The first day we were in Florence we enjoyed a guided walking tour to learn the history of the city.  In the morning we skipped the line at Florence’s Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo’s masterpiece, ‘David.’  While I was taking photos of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ my Canon point and shoot camera died.  So, Florence was the last day I could take photos on my camera.  The rest of the photos I took while we were on our honeymoon was with my iPhone.

After we visited the Accademia Gallery, we crossed the Ponte Vecchio and got to skip the line to visit the Duomo.  In the afternoon we toured the Uffizi Gallery.  We had time to explore independently to see the art at our own pace.  The Uffizi Gallery was beyond stunning.  I could have stayed in the gallery for days.   Read more

    Rome

We spent 16 days in Italy for our honeymoon!  We went to Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast (we stayed in Positano and then on the island of Capri).  I’d never been to Italy before and it has been on the top of my travel bucket list.  We got married on Saturday June 18 and left on a red-eye flight Monday June 20 after our wedding.  Luckily the Atlanta airport had a non-stop flight to Rome.  In Rome we stayed in the Westin Excelsior in Rome, an upscale Starwood hotel in an elegant landmark building.  The Westin Excelsior is in a great location, only a 13-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain.   Read more
